Mooretown Flags Lost to Dresden Kings

Dresden, On - The Mooretown Flags took a 5 - 1 loss in Dresden Friday night in Great Lakes Junior C Hockey action.

 

The Kings opened the scoring just 1:56 into the first period and late in the period with :10 seconds left on the clock added their second goal.  Jesse Allen and Taylor Sisson scored the two first period goals.

 

In the second Dresden continued the scoring with three unanswered goals, the first on a power play with Allen scoring his second goal of the night at 7:50.  Alex Ritchie went on and scored two back to back goals the first :29 seconds after Allens goal and his second and Dresden's fifth on a power play at 17:36.

 

Mooretown's only goal came midway in the third by Travis Mullen on a power play assisted by Jeff Schroeter.

 

Mooretown outshot the Kings 28 - 24.  Braden Palocz and Brandon Johnson shared the loss in net for Mooretown. Brent Paxton earned the win for the Kings.

 

Mooretown went one for six in power play opportunities, Dresden went two for six.

 

The Flags remain in last place in the North Division with 3 wins - 6 loss - 3OTL - 1SOL.

 

Mooretown are back in action tonight when they host the league leading Belle River Canadiens. (11 - 1 - 1OTL).  Game time 7:30 at the Moore Sports Recreation Centre.
