The Mooretown Flags
continued their losing streak with their fifth loss
in a row Wednesday night in the Great Lakes Jr C
hockey league by taking a 5 - 0 loss against the
last place Kingsville Comets.
The Comets scored a single in the first, two in the
second and two more in the third. Kingsville
also shut the door on penalty kills allowing the
Flags zero goals on ten opportunities.
Kingsville scored one power play goal on five
opportunities and scored two goals shorthanded.
Justin Parker led the
Comets in points with one goal and three assists.
Mark Sobocan scored two goals and singles goals by
Tyler Kirby and Ryan Desjarlais rounded out the
scoring.
Laine Parent earned
the shutout win with thirty-one saves. Braden
Palocz took the loss blocking thirty six of forty
one shots.
Mooretown holds
seventh spot in the standings race with a total of
33 points (14-18-4-1) with two games remaining in
the regular season. Wallaceburg is in eighth
spot with 24 points (11-26-0-2) with one game
remaining.
The Flags are back in
action on Friday January 25 when they travel to
Alvinston to take on the Flyers. Game time
7:30 pm.
