Mooretown, ON – After last Saturday's 9-5 loss
to Essex, the Mooretown Flags travelled to
Dresden looking to rebound against the the Jr.
Kings in Great Lakes Jr. C hockey.
Mooretown walked out of the first period with a
lead, and wouldn't look back. Despite Brennan
Rainey having two goals for Dresden including a
powerplay goal to open the game, Mooretown would
respond with three in the period. Mike Burns
would tie it up at 1-1 with his 8th of the
season, and Caden Fleming would tie it up once
again after Rainey's second goal.
Jeff
Schroeter would get the Flags third goal of the
period and the eventual game winner with two
minutes left in the period, as Mooretown outshot
Dresden 16-10.
In the
second period, Caden Fleming would pick up his
second of the game 16 seconds in, resulting in
the periods only goal.
Josh
Teschke would add the Flags fifth goal of the
net in the third to seal the victory.
It's
the Flags 8th victory of the season, and puts
them a single point ahead of the Alvinston
Flyers who lost Friday night, setting up their
Saturday night match up in Mooretown for first
place in the North Division.
Seth
Hellinga got his third start of the season,
making 30 saves in the victory. Hellinga has won
each game he has started so far this year.
