Blenheim, ON – The
Mooretown Flags have dropped their second in a
week, as they fall 6-3 to the Blenheim Blades
Sunday night in Blenheim.
The Blades took
the opening lead just 50 seconds into the game,
as Taylor Phillips made it 1-0 for Blenheim.
Mooretown would take to the powerplay later in
the period where Mike Burns would pick up his
first of the game to knot it at 1-1. But just
over a minute and a half later, Tyler Clarke
would put in a powerplay goal to retake the
lead, as the Blades get out of the first with a
2-1 lead.
In the second the
Blades would put the lead up to two goals, as
Nathan Puchnatj made it 3-1. Mike Burns would
cut the lead in half with his second goal of the
game, but the Blades would continue to score, as
Puchnatyj would pick up his second of the
period, and Clarke would pick up his second of
the game, as Blenheim takes a 5-2 lead.
In the third,
Burns would complete the hat-trick mid way
through the period, but Blenheim would add a
goal eight seconds later to make it a 6-3 game,
which would be the final.
Blenheim out shot
the Flags 37-29. Andrew Ganter made 31 saves in
the loss.
Mooretown will
next play at home to Essex on Saturday, October
22nd.
