Mooretown, ON – With three power play goals in
the game, the Mooretown Flags would edge out the
Wheatley Sharks 4-3 in Great Lakes Junior C
hockey Saturday night.
Michael Gray would pick up the first power play
goal in the first period, getting assists from
Josh Teschke and Dan Lumley to give the Flags a
1-0 lead after the first period.
In the
second, Wheatley would tie the game early on as
Eric Rivard would score four minutes into the
period. But the Flags would respond twice in the
period on the power play, first from Jeff
Schoeter with his 19th of the season, and then
from Mike Burns, as the Flags take a 3-1 lead
into the third period.
Wheatley would cut into that lead midway through
the third period, as Brendon Anger would make it
a 3-2 game. But 34 seconds later, Kurtis Glowa
would put the Flags back in front by two. It
would prove to be the game winner, as Anger
would add one more goal in the period, but the
Sharks would fall short on a comeback, and the
Flags would take it 4-3.
Andrew
Ganter picked up his 8th win of the season
making 28 saves on the night.
Mooretown will next host Dresden next Saturday,
December 3rd.
