Mooretown, ON – Andrew Ganter made 31 saves for
the Mooretown Flags in a 5-0 shutout victory
over the Kingsville Comets Wednesday night,
earning his 7th win of the season and helping
the Flags earn their first victory since October
30th.
"I
think our guys came ready to play tonight," said
Flags head coach Bruce Aberhart. "A little more
focused right off the start, built on that. We
actually played well in all three periods
tonight. Something we haven't done in a while."

Jeff
Sit opened the scoring midway through the first
period as a crowd in front of the net provided
the screen for Sit to put a wrist shot by
Comet's goalie Marcus Rees to make it a 1-0 game
after the first period.
The
second period opened up the scoring more, as the
Flags put 17 shots on net. Josh Teschke received
a cross crease pass from Michael Gray for the
second of the game, followed up Mike Burns two
minutes later getting a pass from Aaron Schieman
and made it 3-0 for Mooretown. Spencer Bronzi
would round out the third period scoring on a
wrap around, as the Flags took a 4-0 lead.
Adam
Hayes would score the loan goal in the third
period on the powerplay, as Ganter earned his
first shutout of the season.
Mooretown next takes on first place Essex, and
will look to continue the good things they
established against KIngsville as they move
forward into what Aberhart calls the dog days
before the Christmas break.
"We
got to keep our guys focused, to think hockey
and play hockey," said Aberhart. "They certainly
did that tonight and everybody played well.
Andrew more then deserved the shutout."
