Belle River, On - After
an exciting 4 - 3 overtime win in the fourth game
against the Belle River Canadiens the Mooretown
Flags lost Tuesday night with a final score of 5 - 4
to put an end to their season.
The Canadiens led 4 - 1
after the first two periods. Belle River
scored 3 unanswered goals in the first period with
Scott Chauvin, Richard Dunning (PP) and Mike Ditty
scoring. Mooretown would score first in the
second period with McGregor Haddon scoring.
Blake Jones scored in the second for Belle River.
In the third Aaaron
Schieman scored for the Flags on a power play.
Belle River added to their tally with their final
goal by Scott Chauvin. Mooretown continued to
fight back and came within one but it wasn't enough
as time ran out. Travis Mullin scored at 12:59
and Alex Dawson scored with the extra man at 19:22.
It was a well played
game with minimum penalties. Mooretown took
just four minutes on two infractions, Belle River
took eight on four infractions. Mooretown went
1 for 4 on power play opportunities, Belle
River went 1 for 2.
Mooretown outshot Belle
River 34 - 28. Zakk Olvin earned the win for
Belle River with 30 saves, Andrew Ganter took the
loss with 23 saves.
