andrew Brethauer January 20th, 2011

Dresden, ON – A 6-4 victory for the Mooretown Flags puts them back into first place for the time being, as the Flags are one game ahead of the Blenheim Blades who only trail by a single point.

Dresden opened the scoring in the first 8 seconds of the game as Dylan Mertz made it 1-0.

Mooretown would respond in the period with a pair of goals to take the lead in what would start a rush of goals coming from the sticks of the Flags. Kurtis Glowa tied the game on the power play, while Josh Teschke added the go ahead goal midway through the first for the 2-1 lead.

In the second, the Flags would score three more times, including mike Burns opening the period with a goal in 1:53. Alex Dawson would get his first of the game three minutes later and Josh Teschke would add his second of the game on the power play to give Mooretown a 5-1 lead after two periods.

In the third, Dawson would find the back of the net again on the power play, but the shift in the game would take place as Dresden finally answers back on the power play, as Brennan Rainey would score is first of a pair of goals in the period to bring Dresden to within half. Josh Beatty would add one more for the Jr. Kings who ran out of time to finish the comeback.

Mooretown continues their road swing as they will take on Alvinston next Friday before finishing off the season with three home games.
