Mooretown, ON – The Mooretown Flags are back in
first place for the time being after a 6-3
victory over the Blenheim Blades Saturday night
in Mooretown in Great Lakes Jr. C hockey.
Dan
Lumley would open the scoring in the first
period at the six minute mark but the lead would
not last long as Taylor Phillips would score
short handed for the Blades to knot the game at
1-1.
Josh
Teschke would put the Flags back in front near
the end of the first period, and Aaron Schieman
would add another goal, as Mooretown jumps out
to a 3-1 lead after the first period of play.

Mooretown in the second as Jeff Sit puts the
Flags up by three goals, while Lumley would pick
up his second of the game as the Flags lead 5-1.
Blenheim would begin to chip away at the lead,
as Taylor Phillips scored his second of the game
on the power play and Zach Mailloux would add a
goal in the middle of the period to bring the
score to within two.
With
an empty net, Mike Burns would finish the game
off, as Mooretown skates to a 6-3 victory.
Andrew
Ganter stopped 19 of the 22 shots he faced for
his 14th victory of the season.
Mooretown is now one point ahead of the Blades
in the North division, but the Blades have a
game in hand.
Mooretown will next take on Belle River on
Wednesday in Mooretown before heading on their
final road trip with two games a week a part.
