Mooretown, ON – The Mooretown Flags finished
their regular season with a 4-3 victory over the
Dresden Jr. Kings Saturday night in Junior C
hockey.
After
no scoring in the first two periods, Mooretown
came out with three straight goals. Josh Teschke
opened the scoring two minutes into the third,
while Andrew Sokol and Michael Gray would score
a minute and a half a part, giving the Flags a
3-0 lead.
Dresden would respond in the second half of the
period scoring three of their own. Jesse Allen
would pick up a pair of goals, while Brennana
Rainey would get the second Jr. King goal, as
they come back to tie the game 3-3, sending it
into overtime.
In the
extra time, it would take Teschke 44 seconds to
finish the game, scoring his second of the
night.
Andrew
Ganter got the start and made 29 saves for the
victory.
The
win locks up second place for the Flags in the
North Division and they will take on the
Alvinston Flyers in the first round of the
playoffs.
