Mooretown, ON – The Mooretown Flags finished off
the Alvinston Flyers Wednesday night with an 8-0
victory to sweep the Flyers 4-0 in their best of
seven series.
Cody
Hardman opened the scoring in the first period,
followed by Aaron Schieman later in the period
on the power play as the Flags took a 2-0 lead
out of the first period.
In the
second period, Alex Dawson would pick up the
Flags third goal 2:04 into the period. Schieman
would add his second power play goal of the game
midway through the second, while Andrew Ganter
would stop all 16 shots he faced in the period
to hold the shutout.
In the
third the Flags would use the power play to
continue to put pucks in the net, scoring four
power plays. Dan Lumley would pick up a pair of
power play goals, while Hardman would pick up
his second of the game and Adam Hayes would
finish off the scoring in the 8-0 victory.
Andrew
Ganter would finish with the shutout, stopping
all 34 shots he faced while the Flags put 45
shots on net in the victory.
Dan
Lumley had productive night, picking up three
assists to go with his two goals for a five
point night, while Mike Burns also added three
assists.
Mooretown will now wait for their next opponent,
as they are the first series to be completed in
Great Lakes Junior C playoffs.
