andrew Brethauer December 4th, 2011

Mooretown, ON – Andrew Ganter stopped 34 shots Saturday night for his ninth win of the season, as the Mooretown Flags defeated the Dresden Jr. Kings 5-3 in Junior C hockey.

Dresden had the early lead in the first period, as Jeremy Griffore scored on the power play to start the scoring. But the Jr. Kings would only have a lead in the game for 35 seconds, as Spencer Bronzi would tie the game, sparking a three goal streak by the Flags. Jeff Sit would get a late first period goal to make it 2-1 after the first period.

Androw Sokol would make it 3-1 midway through the second with a power play goal, but the Kings would answer back with a power play goal of their own from Jeff Vanrabaeys. Mooretown would quickly respond again, keeping their ttwo goal lead, as Alex Dawson made it a 4-2 game after the second.

In the third, Dresden would bring it back to one, as Derek Daly scored midway through the third. But with the net empty, the Kings couldn't find the equalizer, and Dan Lumley would find the empty net, as Flags go on to the 5-3 victory.

Mooretown continues to be first in the North Division, and will next take on Wheatley on Monday, December 5th.
