Blenheim, ON – The Mooretown Flags couldn't make
it two in a row over the weekend after a 6-3
loss to the Blenheim Blades on Sunday.
Blenheim scored three times in the first period
and had a 5-1 lead after two periods of play.
Tyler
Clarke opened the scoring in the first, followed
up by Neven Wiebenga to put the Blades up 2-0.
Jeff Schroeter would cut the lead in half on the
power play, but Wiebenga would get his second of
the period on the power play to restore the two
goal lead.
In the
second, Bowe Shepley would put the Blades up by
three, and Taylor Phillips would make it a four
goal lead, scoring 32 seconds later, as the
Blades left the second up 5-1.
In the
third, Mooretown would get two back, but they
would come far apart. Kurtis Glowa scored 1:59
into the period, and Spencer Bronzi would get
the next Flags goal at the 17 minute mark of the
period, leaving only three minutes to
score two goals. Tyler Clarke would pick up his
second goal of the game, as Blenheim went on to
the 6-3 victory.
Andrew
Ganter made 10 saves, allowing four goals on 14
shots for the loss, while Seth Hellinga made 15
saves, allowing two goals coming in for relief.
Mooretown has one final game of the 2011 year
against Alvinston on December 30th in Alvinston,
game time 7:30pm.
