Mooretown makes a statement in
game two

After dropping game one, the
Mooretown Flags came back and put four goals up on the
board in the first and five in the third to take game
two 9-3 over the Alvinston Flyers to even up the series
1-1.
Aaron Schieman got things
got things started for the Flags assisted by the Teschke
brothers to put the FLags up 1-0. But forty-four seconds
later Dan Warner tied it on the powerplay. It would only
take Mooretown a minute and a half to get back into the
lead as Donny Bowling made it 2-1 for the Flags.
Schieman would score his second of the period on the
powerplay to go up 3-1, and would later add an assist on
Tyler Prong's goal to make it 4-1 for the Flags. But
Chase Clark would cut the lead in half after with his
late third period goal.
The second period was more
calm as only Dan Warner scored his second powerplay goal
of the game to make it 4-3. Alvinston shot 18 shots on
net but couldn't find the equalizer.
The third period was all
Mooretown. Bowling scored his second of the game within
in the first minute to restore the two goal lead. Two
minutes later Cody Hardman score to restore the earlier
three goal lead. Schieman would get his hat-trick in the
third as well to make it 7-2. And the Teschke brothers
would each score a goal with Josh scoring on the
powerplay and Jason scoring 12 seconds after that.
Jason Teschke and Aaron
Schieman each had five points on the night. Jordan
Gladwish made 31 saves for the victory while Brandon
Campbell made 37 saves on 46 shots.
Game three goes Wednesday in
Mooretown. |
