The Flags scored 6
unanswered goals in the last two periods to take a 8 - 3
win in game one of the home/home series over the Essex's
73's.
At the end of the first period Essex led 3 - 2.
Donny Bowling scored the first goal of the night for
Mooretown then Essex went on and scored two back to back
goals. Bowling scored the second Flags goal to tie
but Essex took the lead for the final time late in the
period before the flood gates opened and the Flags took
control.
Second period scoring Jason Teschke scored two and Josh
Teschke scored a single. In the third it was Alex
Dawson, Kurtis Glowa and Cody Hardman adding to the
total.
Both sides took a total of 10 minutes in penalties on 5
infractions. Essex scored 1 for 3 on the
powerplay, Mooretown went 2 for 3.
Shots on goal were even at 32. Jordan Gladwish
took the win in net for the Flags.
The Flags will now travel to Essex on Tuesday for a
rematch in game 2 of the home/home series. Game
time 7:00 pm. |
