Mooretown comes from behind for
the victory
The Mooretown Flags saw themselves
trailing 3-1 after the first 5 minutes in the second
period, but managed to score three goals to take the
victory away from the Alvinston Flyers. Joe Archer of
Alvinston scored the first two goals,
before William Brandon scored for the
Flags early in the second period. By Eric Nemeth would
add a goal three minutes later to give the Flyers the
3-1 lead.
It would take the Flags thirteen
minutes to respond, as Jason Teschke assisted from
brother Josh on the power play scored to cut the lead to
one. The second period would end with the Flags still
trailing. Alvinston would take another penalty in middle
of the third, and Mooretown would capitalize, as Adam
Little would put a power play goal passed Brandon
Campbell to tie the game at three.
Three minutes later, Jason Teschke
would get his second of the game and game winning goal,
to give the flags the victory. Flags goalie Colton James
would stop 8 shots in the third to keep the Flags in the
game and seal the victory. Mooretown outshot Alvinston a
whopping 62-35. With the victory Mooretown moves two
points behind Alvinston in the North Division.
