It took a shootout in Dresden for the Mooretown Flags to defeat the Jr. Kings 6-5 in Junior C hockey Friday night.

Adam Little opened the scoring on the power play, and Duncan MacSorley added another to give the Flags a 2-0 lead. Dresden would get a goal late in the first to get Dresden on the board and cut the lead to one.

The Jr. Kings would tie the game in the second on a power play, but Jason Teschke would add his sixteenth of the year to put the Flags back up by one. But as the second period would go back and forth, Dresden would add another power play goal to tie things back up. But Darby McKinnon would add his third of the year to put the Flags up by one again at the end of the second period.

Dresden would take their first lead in the third period, scoring two goals to give them a 5-4 lead. Duncan MacSorley would get his second of the game late in the third on the power play to tie the game up at five. Overtime would solve nothing, so the game needed a shootout.

Jordan Gladwish would stop the first shot, while Jason Teschke would add the Flags first goal of the shootout. Jesse Ferguson would beat Gladwish to tie things at 1-1. Josh Teschke would beat Eric Steinman to put the Flags up 2-1. Gladwish would make the save on Jeremy Griffore to give the Flags the 6-5 victory.

Gladwish would make 41 of 45 saves in the victory.
