Flags stay alive with overtime
victory
The
Mooretown Flags are still alive in the Junior C playoffs
with a 3-2 overtime victory in game four against Belle
River.
Mooretown,
playing for their season, opened the scoring just
thirty-five seconds into the gane, as Donny Bowling
scored to make it 1-0. Despite being outshot 15-9 in the
period, the Flags were able to keep the Canadiens off
the boards and hold the lead heading into the second
period.
In the
second, Josh Teschke scored his 9th of the playoffs 1:04
into the second period to make it a 2-0 game for the
Flags. But Belle River would finally respond, as Branden
Larocque cut the lead in half with his early second
period goal. Before the end of the period would go out,
the Canadiens would erase the 2-0 deficit, as Nik
Dobrich scored to make it a 2-2 game after the second.
In the
third, neither team would get the go ahead goal, as the
Canadiens outshot the Flags 11-9.

Overtime
would be needed and in overtime, it didn't take the
Flags long to put the game away, as Mike Burns scored on
the first shot of overtime, twenty-six seconds into the
period to give the Flags a 3-2 victory.
Jordan
Gladwish made 36 saves in the victory.
With the
win, Mooretown stays alive in the series, but still must
win out to move on as they are down 3-1. Game five goes
March 11th in Belle River. |
