The Mooretown Flags could pull out back to back wins, as they fall to the
Blenheim Blades 6-2.
Mooretown held the lead
to start the game, scoring just twenty-two seconds into
the first, as Kurtis Glowa made it 1-0 for the Flags. It
would take Blenheim the rest of the period in order to
tie it up, but they would on the powerplay as Neven
Wiebenga made it a 1-1 game to head into the second.
The Blades in the
second would take control of the game. Just forty-one
seconds into the second they would strike and take a 2-1
lead as Alex Cvetkovski scored the second goal for the
Blades in just forty-seven seconds. Brendon Anger would
take over in the second, getting two goals past Jordan
Gladwish to put the Blades up 4-1 to end the second.
In the third, Blenheim
would continue, scoring 3:07 into the third, as Tyler
Oglan made it 5-1. Derek D'Andera found finally break
the goal streak and make it 5-2, but before the period
was out, Thomas Innes would make it 6-2 on the
powerplay.
Gladwish stopped 36 of
42 shots he faced, while Taylor Speed stopped 37 of 39
shots. With the loss, Mooretown doesn't move ahead of
Alvinston in the standings, while Blenheim keeps on pace
with Dresden for the final playoff spot.
