Flags
losing streak continues
The
Mooretown Flags are on a four game losing streak, as
they are defeated by the Essex 73’s 6-4.
Essex
started with an early lead, scoring just thirty-six
seconds into the game, as Zack Miletic mde it 1-0. Sean
Ducharme would make it 2-0 on the powerplay, scoring his
8th of the season. The Flags would get one
back on the powerplay, as Jason Teschke would score his
27th of the season to cut the lead to just
one. But Essex was not finished for the period, as Kyle
Fiorini would answered the Flags goal, and Ducharme
would add his second of the game to put the 73’s up 4-1
after the first.
Josh
Teschke would get the Flags back on track to start the
second period, as his powerplay goal cut the lead to
two. But Essex used the powerplay to their advantage, as
Tanner Gallant scored his 16th to put the
73’s back up by three at the end of the second.
Mooretown
would come out in the third and score two powerplay
goals, as Alex Dawson made it 5-3, and Jason Teschke
made it 5-4, to bring the Flags back to within one. But
Essex would hang on, and Adam Dunmore would seal the
victory scoring his 12th of the season to
give the 73’s a 6-4 victory.
The Flags
scored each of their goals on the powerplay and could
not solve Chad Summerfield at even strength, as he made
22 saves on 26 shots. Jordan Gladwish made 29 saves in
the loss.
Mooretown
is now in 3rd place in the North Division,
two points back of Alvinston, but they still have two
games to make up on the Flyers. The Flags will try to
end their streak against Kingsville on Saturday, January
8th.
