The Mooretown
Flag's three game winning streak came to an end Friday
night, as the Dresden Jr. Kings came away with a 3-2
victory.
Both
teams couldn't score early in the game, but the Flag's
would score first on the powerplay, as Alex Dawson
scored his 5th of the year to give the Flag's a 1-0 lead
at the end of the first.
In the second
period Dresden would reply, as Tyler Clarke made it a
tie game at 1-1. Minutes later they would take the lead
as Graham Smyth put the Kings up 2-1. Both the Flag's
would battle back and on the powerplay again, Josh
Teschke would score his 22nd of the year to tie the game
at 2-2 heading into the third.
But in the
third, the powerplay would catch them, as Clarke would
score his second of the game to give the Kings a 3-2
lead. They would end up skating away with the victory.
Clarke came
away with 2 goals and 1 assist in the game, while Dylan
Mertz had an assist on each goal for three on the night.
Jesse Ferguson also added two assists for the KIngs.
