The
Mooretown Flags finished of their season over the
weekend with their final two games.
Their
first game saw a playoff preview as the Flags took on
the Alvinston Flyers in Alvinston.
There was
no scoring in the first period, but the Flags scored
four times in the second, two from Aaron Schieman on the
powerplay to give them a 4-2 lead. Josh Teschke and
Tyler Prong also scored in the period for Mooretown
while Adam Steadman and Chris Edwards scored for
Alvinston.
Jason
Teschke would give the Flags a 5-2 lead with his
powerplay goal, but Dan Warner would score two powerplay
goals for Alvinston to ring them to within one. But Josh
Teschke would get his second of the game to put it away
for the Flags as they go on to win 6-4.
Jordan
Gladwish stopped 30 shots for the victory while Brandon
Campbell stopped 32 shots in the loss.
The Flags
then finished their season at home against Wallaceburg,
but unfortunately could not end the season with a
winning note as they lost 3-1 to the Lakers.
Wallaceburg scored all three goals before Adam Little
could score for Mooretown in the third period. Norm
Leger had one goal in the first while Nash Lozon and
Shawn Lubbers had goals in the second for the Lakers.
With the
season complete the Flags head into the playoffs where
they will face the Alvinston Flyers.
