Wallaceburg rallied for four goals in the third to take an 8-5 victory over the Mooretown Flags Saturday night in Mooretown.
The two teams, first and second respectfully in the North Division were evenly matched up till the third when Wallaceburg found the net four times on fourteen shoots. The Period started well for the Flags, as Kurtis Glowa put in a goal two minutes in to give the Flags a 5-4 lead, but Wallaceburg would come on strong halfway through the period, tying the game with a goal from Jordan Durstin at 10:21. The Lakers would then score two quick goals sixteen seconds apart, as Tyson Isaac and Nash Lozon puled the Lakers two ahead of the Flags. Norm Leger would add the final tally, and his fourth goal for the 8-5 victory.
Their was plenty of scoring to open the game, as Mooretown took a quick lead with a goal from Derek D'Andrea just twenty-four seconds into the game. Leger would get his first of the game three minutes later to tie things at 1-1, but the Flags Jason Teschke would put them ahead again on the powerplay. Leger would respond on the powerplay for his second of the game, and Shawn Lubbers would give the Lakers their first lead of the game with his unassisted goal. Mooretown would tie the period at 3-3 with a goal from Aaron Schieman.
The second period saw Leger get his hat-trick to give the Lakers their second lead of the game, but Josh Teschke would get an unassisted late goal to tie things back at 4-4 before the third period.
In all, the Flags had three leads during the game, but where not able to stop the number one team in the North division and make up any ground.
