The
Mooretown Flags allowed three goals in the first period
to the South Division leading Belle River Canadiens on
route to a 5-2 loss Wednesday night in Mooretown.
Dylan Impens
opened the scoring for Belle River with his first of the
season. The Canadiens would then use the special teams
to build there lead, as they score first shorthanded, as
Branden Larocque gets his 9th of the season. Then they
would score on the powerplay as Travis Brown puts the
Canadiens up 3-0 after one.
Mooretown

would get his second of the year from Jason Teschke and
Derek D'Andrea on the powerplay. But Belle River would
get it back thirty seconds later as Scott Chauvin would
put Belle River back up by three. But the Flags would
get another back, as Aaron Schieman would get his fifth
of the season from Zach Anderson and Jason Teschke to
make it 4-2 after the second.
But
Belle River would capitalize on the shorthand again, as
Matt Todd scores the Canadiens second shorthanded goal
to put them back up by three. The Canadiens would take
it 5-2.
Colton James
got the start for the Flags and stooped 54 of 59 shots.
The Flags were outshot by a wide margin, as they only
got 24 shots on net compared to Belle Rivers 59, which
included 27 in the first alone, compared to Mooretown's
5.
