Mooretown tops Dresden in close Saturday game

The
Mooretown Flags walked away with a close 3-2 victory
over the Dresden Jr. Kings Saturday night, moving three
points ahead of Alvinston in the South Division.
Jason
Teschke added his team leading 25th goal of
the season to get the Flags on the board mid-way through
the first period. Just under a minute later, Kurtis
Glowa made it 2-0 for the flags. Dresden would cut the
lead on the powerplay when Cody McPhail made it a 2-1
game.
In the
second period, Mooretown would retake the two goal lead
when Mike Burns added his 22nd of the season.
Both teams put 14 shots on net, but were not able to
score any more goals in the period.
Dresden’s
Cam Ross would add goal late in the third to cut the
lead back to just one, but the Jr. Kings were not able
to put any other goals.
Colton
James stopped 35 of 37 shots, while Eric Steinman
stopped 28 of 31 shots. The Flags only had 14 players on
the bench due to suspensions suffered from their last
game.
Mooretown
next takes on Wheatley on Monday, December 13th,
while Dresden will take on Wheatley as well on Friday,
December 17th.
