Eight goals in second
leads to an 8-3 Mooretown win

After
being defeated 3-1 by the Wallaceburg Lakers on Monday,
Mooretown came back home to take on the fourth place
Blenheim Blades in Junior C hockey action. The two teams
combined for eight goals in the second period, as the
Flags went on to defeat the Blades 8-3.
Jason
Teschke scored his team leading 24th goal of
the season, as he had a hat-trick, scoring Mooretown’s
second goal, and the last two goals of the game. Brother
Josh also put in two goals of his own. Josh also had
four assists in the victory for a six point night, while
Jason had two assists for a five point night. Adam
Little also recorded a goal and three assists for a four
point night.
Mooretown
opened the game with three goals in the first to take a
3-0 lead. By 2:48 into the second, that lead was pushed
to 5-0, as the Flags started off the second with two
quick goals. Blenheim responded twice on powerplay’s to
cut the lead to three, but Calab Harse would add a goal
to make it a four goal game.
Blenheim
would add another under a minute to go, but Jason
Teschke would get his final two 11 seconds apart.
Jordan
Gladwish recorded 33 of 36 saves on the night for his 7th
win of the season. With the victory the Flags still
remain in second in the North Division, three points up
on Alvinston, and move above .500 with an 11-10-2
record.
Their
next game goes Saturday, December 4th in
Mooretown against the Wheatley Sharks, who are currently
third in the South Divison, but yet have the same
11-10-2 record.
