| Mooretown tied the
series 1 - 1 last night after taking a 7 - 4 win over
the Dresden Kings.
Dresden took the early lead in the first period on a
goal scored by Jeremy Park. Less than three minutes
later Mike Burns answered back with the equalizer.
The Flags powerplay was
the key to this nights game as the Flags scored 2 in the
win. Jason Teschke scored the first powerplay goal
in the first period given the Flags the lead which they
retained for the rest of the night.
Second period Flags went
up 3 - 1 midway into the period with Ryan Hunt scoring.
Dresden Scott Gawne came in approximately four minutes
later to make it 3 - 2 then just three minutes later
Cody Stout scored an unassisted goal and with five
seconds left on the clock Jordan Pennesi scored a
shorthanded goal to end the period with Mooretown
leading 5 - 2.
Second powerplay goal
came at 2:10 into the third with Adam Little scoring.
Dresden would score the next two goals the first coming
at 8:33 by Scott Gawne and the second in the last minute
of play by Josh Beatty. With Dresden's net empty
Travis Mullen put the game away scoring the last goal of
the night.
Mooretown went 2 for 4 on the powerplay, Dresden went 0
for 5.
Seth Anderson earned second star of the night making a
total of 33 saves in the win. Eric Steinman took
the loss with 21 saves.
Travis Mullen was the
first star of the night earning 3 points, 3rd star went
to Dresden's Scott Gawne who also had a 3 point game.
Game three in the series
is set for Wednesday February 17th in Mooretown, game
time 8:00 pm. |
