Mooretown Flags
vs Blenheim

The Mooretown Flags
evened the home/home series up after taking a 5 - 4 win
over the Blades Saturday night. Previously
the score was the same however the winner was reversed
as the Blades took the win in an overtime shootout.
The Flags
went up 2 - 0 after the first period with Cody Stout
from Travis Mullen and Alex Dawson scoring the first
goal and the second goal was by Brett Thompson
unassisted.
In the
second the Flags went up 3 - 0 on a goal by Mike Burns
assisted by Thompson and Jordan Pennesi. The Flags
ran into some penalty troubles and found themselves
shorthanded which the Blades took the advantage and
scored on the powerplay. Blades powerplay goal was
scored by Taylor Phillips. Mooretown answered back
4 minutes later when Spencer Lightfoot found the
opening. Assisting on the goal were Darby McKinnon
and Zach Anderson. Another powerplay goal by
Blenheim's Taylor Phillips in the last minute of the
second gave the Flags a 4 - 2 lead heading into the 3rd.
In the third
Blenheim came back to even the score scoring at 3:58 and
12:56, the first by Tyler Milanovic and the second by
Thomas Innes. In the last minute of the game, the
Flags found themselves with the man advantage and Travis
Mullen fired in the game winner unassisted. Flags
held on at the final buzz to take the win.
Seth
Anderson earned the win with 37 saves, Dylan Vanderpol
took the loss with a total of 29 saves.
Blenheim
went 2 for 5 in powerplay opportunites, Mooretown went 1
for 3.
The Flags
are back in action this Wednesday December 9 when they
host Kingsville at the Moore Sports Complex. Game
time 8:00 pm.
