Sarnia vs. Centre of Wellington
2 pm game
The Tyke Pacers were certainly up for a challenge
against the well-prepared Centre of Wellington team.
Goalie Sean Foster was on his game today making some
excellent saves – his best game yet! AP Tyler Caron
was in action today as Caelan Babenko was away.
Centre of Wellington scored four goals in the first
period taking the lead.
The Pacers scored their first goal in the second
period, a beautiful assist from Kristian Spitzig to
Carter Barron. Centre of Wellington scored five
goals this period.
Seven more goals scored by Centre of Wellington in
the third period resulting in their win, 16-1.
June 26, 2010
Sarnia vs. Welland
8am game
The Pacers were up early and eager for more action
on day two of the Herb Lea Tournament.
Carter Barron scored the Pacer’s first goal but
Welland took the lead in the first period, scoring
four goals. There were penalties for both sides, two
minutes for Sarnia and four minutes for Welland.
Barron scored two more goals in the second period.
Welland spent more time in the penalty box, giving
Sarnia some opportunities on net however Welland
prevailed and scored four more goals this period.
Kyle Haas had success at the net in the third
period, scoring the Pacer’s fourth goal of the game.
Barron had lots of shots on net but Welland’s goalie
was working hard to block them. Plenty of time was
spent in the penalty box for the Pacers for pushing
from behind. Only one penalty for Welland for high
sticking. Welland went on to score six more goals
this period. The final score was 14-4 for Welland.
Sarnia vs. Cambridge
3pm game
The Tyke Pacers came back in afternoon recharged and
ready for action.
Although the Pacers did not score any goals the
first period, they demonstrated their desire to win
and played well as a team. Cambridge scored four
goals in the first period.
The Pacers leaped into the second period and scored
four goals. Kyle Haas scored the first goal and
assisted the second goal to Parker McKegan. Then
Kristian Spitzig assisted a goal to Carter Barron.
Carter then went on to score a goal assisted by
Kristian. All great passing, catching and cross
checking this period.
Kyle Fraser was in action in the third scoring a
goal as well as Simon Doan scoring a few minutes
later. The boys pushed so hard for a win however,
Cambridge also scored a goal in the third period,
resulting in a very close game but a win for
Cambridge 6/5.
June 27, 2010
Sarnia vs. Brantford
9am game
The Pacers brought back their ambition to win on
Sunday morning.
Parker McKegan demonstrated some great passing and
catching, resulting in several shots on net. Corson
Langs, Hunter Dalgety and Kristian Spitzig showed
their speed with some great hustling after the ball.
The Pacer’s first goal was scored by Simon Doan in
the first period. Brantford scored two goals and had
almost scored two more but the shots were scored in
the crease and disqualified.
Unfortunately the Pacers would then spend some time
in the penalty box for a total of eight minutes in
the second period. This resulted in Brantford taking
a greater lead, scoring three more goals this
period.
Brantford spent some time in the penalty box in the
third. The Pacers scored three great goals by Corson
Langs, Carter Barron and Kyle Haas. Carter Barron
kept Brantford’s goalie busy with a lot of shots on
net but their goalie made some excellent saves.
The final score was 8-4 for Brantford.
The Pacers are back in action on Tuesday, June 29th
for a home game against London.
