Tyke Pacers Travel to Windsor
June 5, 2010
10 am game
The Tyke Pacers travelled to Windsor this weekend
for a two game day – their first meeting this season
with the Warlocks.
The Team had some shuffling to do both on the bench
and on the floor due to absences. Even with
this change, the coaching staff and the players rose
to the challenge. The first period saw many battles
with the Warlocks but no success at the net.
The second period saw Assistant Captain Carter
Barron score unassisted. Shortly following his lead
was Corson Langs on his own as well. The third
period had Hunter Dalgety and Carter Barron scoring
unassisted.
The Pacers spent a total of 14 minutes off the floor
with penalties, which was shy of the Warlock total
of 18 minutes.
The final answer was Windsor winning with a score of
8-4.
1 pm game
After lunch, some rest and a quick tour of Windsor,
the Pacers returned to Forest Glade arena for
another contest.
The arena was warm and the Pacers had to exhibit
their commitment and stamina under harsh
conditions.
Period 1 had Corson Langs scoring with an assist
from Carter Barron and Kristian Spitzig got on the
game sheet – unassisted.
Period 2 saw the Pacers’ only penalty time as well
as 2 goals from Spitzig and Barron each. An assist
was provided by Kyle Fraser this period.
Period 3 saw some excellent action with several
minutes of passing and strategy from the power play
line. Success was Barron’s with 2 more goals!
Final score Windsor 12 - Sarnia 8.
Overall, this was the best performance yet for this
team! Great job Pacers!
Day 2 of the Essex County tour was cancelled.
Unfortunately, a tornado touched down in Sun County
and this natural disaster was priority.
NEXT – Tyke Pacers meet with the London Blue Devils
Thursday, June10 @ 7 pm – Clearwater Arena.
