The Tyke Pacers
wrapped up the OLA Zone 7 season on
Saturday at the Zone Championships.
9am Game – Sarnia vs.
Wallaceburg
It was a tight first
period with Wallaceburg scoring two
goals and Sarnia scoring one by Carter
Barron assisted by Kyle Haas. Kristian
Spitzig was winning all face offs today,
giving the Pacers some great leads.
Simon Doan had a
great day in net making fantastic saves.
Corson Langs was hustling hard for the
ball, resulting in a goal in the second
period. Kristian Spitzig also scored a
goal in the second period.
The Pacers had
several shots on net in the third
period, with only one success at the net
for Kyle Haas.
The final score was
7/4 for Wallaceburg.
The team made their
way over to the Wallaceburg Arena for
noon to participate in a skills
competition. Carter Barron, Parker
McKegan, Kyle Haas, Kristian Spitzig,
Corson Langs, Simon Doan and Sebastien
Frenette participated. The Pacers did a
great job and placed second.
2:30pm Game – Sarnia
vs. Sun County
After lunch, the
Pacers were back in action for game two.
The first period
would see two power play opportunities
for the Pacers. Only one goal was scored
by Hunter Dalgety. Sun County also
scored one goal.
Sun County took the
lead in the second period scoring three
goals with Sarnia scoring one by
Kristian Spitzig.
The third period
would see goals scored by only Sun
County, resulting in their win 7/2.
The Tyke Pacers are
off for a week and meet back for
Provincials in Whitby on August 1, 2010. |
