Sarnia In Motion Pacers Junior B Lacrosse team has a New Coach Announces President

 

Sarnia- The Junior B Lacrosse organization’s president Brian Matthews has announced that the team has a new coach for the upcoming 2010 season. Matthews announced that Ken Barrett the General Manager will now be acting coach for the Sarnia In Motion Junior B Pacers Lacrosse team.

 

“With Ken's strong passion for the game and knowledge, plus having a year under his belt as General Manager made him the perfect choice for the position as head coach” states Brian Matthews, President In Motion Pacers Junior B Lacrosse Organization.

 

Ken Barrett along with support coaching staff Shaun Kennedy and Brad Holbrough are all previous Junior B Pacers players who have a passion for the game and for the Pacer’s organization.  Matthews explains the he believes “Ken and his staff will bring a new attitude and style to the team which in return will make the team competitive in the coming 2010 season.”

 

Barrett has been busy scouting new players for the upcoming season to fill some of the areas that were lacking in the previous season. “Since Brian Matthews along with the executive brought me on board last year as General Manager my sole focus has been to bring the Pride back to the Pacer name” says Ken Barrett, General Manager and Coach Sarnia In Motion Junior B Lacrosse.

 

There is definitely a glimpse of hope for the upcoming 2010 season with changes of coaching and enthusiasm brewing around new players and increasing morale. Barrett exclaims “There is no question that this team has seen some disappointing seasons as of late, but I am confident that we have the talent and the work ethic that can and will get us back to the playoffs.”

 

The formation of junior lacrosse in Lambton County occurred in 1973. The Pacers captured the Junior B Canadian championships, known as the Founders Cup, in 1978, 1979, 1983 and 1984. These teams established records that still stand today. Lacrosse is a popular sport in Sarnia and continues to grow every year.
