Sarnia Jr B Pacers vs London Blue Devils

The Sarnia Jr B Pacers held on and took an 8 - 7 win over the London Blue Devils in front of the home crowd at the Clearwater Arena on Wednesday night.  This is the second game of a two game home/home series with London taking the first game 6 - 4 in London on Sunday.

 

In Sarnia, London took took a 3 - 2 lead in the first period.  Conner Smith (powerplay) and Dan Charlton scored for Sarnia.  Winter Dockstader scored a single and Gavin Moynaugh scored 2 powerplays for London.

 

In the second period Sarnia came back scoroing 5 goals in the period to lead 7 - 4.  Aaron Schieman opened the scoring after which London scored their lone goal of the period by Steve Coumans.  TJ Mara, Terry Millar, Lance Ross and Jimmy Purves (powerplay) went on and scored to take the 3 point lead at the end of the second.

 

In a tense third period London fought back and scored back to back goals by Damon Miller and Kyle Childerhose (powerplay).  The only goal in the third for Sarnia was scored on the powerplay by Riley Thompson.  Trailing by 2 goals London pulled the goalie for the extra attacker and managed to put one in by Winter Dockstader but the Pacers held on to take their second win of the season.

 

Both sides went 3 for 11 for powerplay opportunities. Penatly totals for Sarnia was 22 minutes on 11 infractions, London took 32 minutes on 12 infractions.   Total shots on goal for Sarnia 42, London's total was 39.
 

 

Goaltender Tyler Glebe earned the second win for the Pacers with a total of 32 saves, Shawn Snow took the loss with 33 saves.

 

The Pacers are now 2 wins and 4 losses for the season.

 

The Pacers are on the road for the next two Saturday games the first in Orangeville on May 8 and then on to Elora on May 15.  Their next home game is set for Wed May 19th when they host Windsor for the second time this season.
