Sarnia Jr B Pacers at Elora

The Sarnia Jr B Pacers dropped a 6 - 4 decision in Elora on Saturday putting an end to their two game win streak.  Despite the loss it was a close game as both sides were even at 3 - 3 after the first period.  The scoring went back and forth with Elora scoring first.  AP Kevin Conroy scored the first goal for Sarnia, Elora then went forward with their second to be answered back by Lance Ross.  Sarnia took the lead for the first time on a goal by Mike Butler however Elora came back and evened things up at the end the first period.

 

In the second Josh Yurchuk gave Sarnia the lead once again only to have Elora score on a powerplay to tie.  Midway into the second Elora regained the lead on what turned out to be the winning goal.   Period ended with Elora leading  5 - 4. 

It was a tight third period as Elora scored the only goal and held on to take the win.

 

Sarnia had a total of 40 shots on goal, Elora had 52.  Justin Matthews went the distance in net for Sarnia.  Dan Humphrey earned the win for Elora.

 

Sarnia went 0 for 2 on powerplay opportunities, Elora went 1 for 2.  Sarnia took a total of 8 penalty minutes on 4 infractions, Elora took 6 on 3 infractions.

 

Next up the Pacers are at home on Wednesday May 19th when they host Windsor for the second time this season. Last time these two teams met Sarnia took an 8 - 5 loss.  Game time is 8:00 pm at Clearwater Arena.
