Pacers played
back to back
games over the
weekend with the
first at home
against Guelph
on Saturday.
After 3 periods
of play both
sides were even
with 8 apiece
sending the game
into overtime.
In the first
period both
sides gave up a
single goal with
Guelph scoring
the first goal
then Lance Ross
tied things up
late in the
period. In the
second Guelph
led by a single
goal by scoring
4 goals with
Sarnia scoring
3. Riley
Thompson scored
two powerplay
goals in the
second for
Sarnia and Lance
Ross scored a
single
shorthanded.
In the third
period Aaron
Schieman tied
things up just
:51 seconds into
the period.
Guelph would add
a pair of goals
before Jimmy
Purves scored
and Aaron
Schieman scored
his second to
even the score
once again.
Guelph took the
lead late in the
period only to
have TJ Mara
powerplay goal
tie things up
sending the game
into overtime.
In the overtime
period Aaron
Schieman added
his third goal
of the night to
give Sarnia the
lead.
Guelph added
back to back
goals to regain
another lead.
At the seven
minute mark
Jimmy Purveys
added his second
goal of the
night to even
the score at 10
apiece.
This would stand
as the final
whistle blew
giving each side
single points
for the tie.
On Sunday night
the Pacer's
travelled to
London and
dropped a 10 - 3
decision.
After the first
period of play
the score was 4
- 2 for London.
Conner Smith
scored
unassisted for
Sarnia and Riley
Thompson added
the second
Sarnia goal.
In the second
period London
scored 4
unanswered goals
to widen the
lead to 8 - 2.
In the third
Sarnia's TJ Mara
scored the final
Sarnia goal and
Guelph went on
and scored two
more to give
them the 10 - 3
win.
Sarnia is in
last place in
their division
and are now 5 -
12 - 1 for the
season with two
home games
remaining.
The first is on
Wednesday June
16 at 8:00 pm
and the second
is on Sunday
June 20
beginning at
3:00 pm.
Both games are
at the
Clearwater
Arena.
