Sarnia Pacers vs St. Catharines Spartans
 

 

In their second road game on the weekend the Pacers lost to the St. Catharines Spartans with a final score of 8 - 6.

 

Sarnia's Riley Thompson opened the scoring with 2 powerplay goals early in the first period.  The Spartans answered back with two goals the first on the powerplay.  Late in the period Mike Butler scored to give Sarnia the 3 - 2 lead heading into the second period.

 

In the second the Spartans went on and scored four consecutive goals before Jimmy Purves added a pair of goals for Sarnia in the last two minutes of the period.  Score at the end of two Spartans 6 - Sarnia 5.

 

Mike Butler tied things up early in the third and held on until midway when the Spartans scored two goals less than a minute apart.  The Spartans held off the attack to take the win.

 

Sarnia went 2 for 6 in powerplay opportunities, the Spartans went 3 for 9.

Justin Matthews went the distance in net for the Pacers.

 

The Pacers are now 0 for 3 in the season.
