CALGARY, Alta. –
Forty-one of Canada’s top women’s
under-22 players including Sarnia native
Carolyne Prevost have arrived in Calgary
for the National Women’s Under-22 Team
selection camp, set for August 7-14 at
Father David Bauer Olympic Arena.
The players in camp will be competing
for 22 spots on Canada’s roster that
will face Canada’s National Women’s Team
in a three-game series in Calgary from
August 17-20. The final roster for the
series will be announced at the end of
this selection camp.

UNDER-22 TEAM SELECTION CAMP ROSTER
The 41 players will be
split into two rosters – Red and White –
and will practice throughout the week,
as well as playing intersquad games. The
teams will be joined by Sweden’s
national women’s team, which will
compete against Red and White before
taking on Canada’s National Women’s Team
on Saturday, August 15. Each team at the
selection camp will play four games, two
against each of the other two teams.

Canada’s coaching staff,
comprised of head coach Margot Page
(Stoney Creek, Ont./Appleby College,
Can. HS) and assistant coaches Jim
Fetter (Waterloo, Ont./Wayne State
University, CHA) and Stephanie White
(Toronto, Ont./Ryerson University, GBWHL),
will use the camp to select the 22
players to represent the National
Women’s Under-22 Team against Canada’s
National Women’s Team.
Following the three-game series, Hockey
Canada’s regional scouts, along with the
National Women’s Under-22 Team coaching
staff, will evaluate players with their
club teams, with the goal of selecting a
team for the 2010 MLP Cup, scheduled for
early January in Germany.
