Point Edward at Mount Brydges

Brilliant goaltending kept
the Mount Brydges Gold Cougars off the scoreboard in a
5-0 win by the Point Edward Blackhawks. Luke Crombeen
was challenged with more than 15 quality shots but stood
on his head to keep the puck out of the net! He even got
in on the scoring action with 3 assists!
Point Edward scored three
times in the first period, adding singles in the second
and third periods to win their first road game of the
season.
Shaun McDermott opened the
scoring at 7:47 with a one-timer from the left side
(assisted by Ryder Nienhuis and Jared Henry). Jaxon
Lucas scored the team’s second at 3:04 (assisted by
Ryder Nienhuis and Luke Crombeen). Jimmy Simpson scored
an unassisted goal with 1:39 left in the first.
Although the Blackhawks
peppered the opposing goalie for much of the second
period, they only managed one goal at 6:46 (Jimmy
Simpson from Ethan Pereira and Luke Crombeen).
The Point closed out their
scoring at 4:04 in the third with Jaxon Lucas putting
his second goal past the Cougar netminder, assisted by
Corson Young and Luke Crombeen.
The team has outscored
opponents 26-5 over the first 4 games and remains
undefeated. Crombeen has an impressive 1.25 goals
against average. Their next game will be at home, Nov 6
at 4pm vs.Lambton Shores Predators. |
