Petrolia Squires vs Tavistock Royals

The Squires hosted the
Tavistock Royals on Friday night who handed them their
second loss of the season with a final score of 5 - 3.
After the first period of play the score was tied at 2
apiece. Greg Bailey and Craig Laframboise each
scored for the Squires, Tyler Roth and Cody Hall
scored for Tavistock. In the second period the
Squires scored in the first minute of play with John
Martin taking the lead. Midway into the period the
Royals tied things up on Cody Hall's second goal of the
night. A powerplay goal late in the period gave
the Tavistock Royals the lead. Greg Virgo scored
the go ahead goal and eventual game winner. The
second ended with with Tavistock leading 3 - 2. In
the third it was exciting hockey as both sides went back
and forth. In the attempt to tie the Squires
pulled netminder Steve Bryce. Despite the extra
man Tavistock scored into the empty net to secure the
win with :15 seconds left on the clock. Empty
netter goal was scored by Cody Hall, his third of the
night.The Royals
outshot the Squires 35 - 30.
Next home game for the
Squires is Fri., Nov 5 vs Thedford at the Greenwood
Rec Centre 8 pm. Then on Saturday Nov 6 they
head to Tavistock.
