Lambton Shores vs Chatham Maroons
Lambton Shores took
a disappointing 4 - 3 loss in the last minute of
play after Chatham scored a powerplay goal on
Saturday night at the Shores Recreation Centre.
Brendon Merritt shorthanded goal in the first
period gave the Predators the lead in the first
period. Chatham went on and scored two
goals, the second on a powerplay to give them
the lead at the end of the first period.
Zack Miletic and Martin Gruse scored for
Chatham.
In the second it was solid hockey as neither
side scored and Chatham received the only
penalty in the period. Third period action
saw Lambton tie things up after Brendon Merritt
score his second of the night and just over 2
minutes later regain the lead on a goal by Matt
Rupert. A minute and 20 seconds
later Devon Roeszler of Chatham scored to tie
the game at 3 - 3. Mike Rivard put the
game away for Chatham with :13 seconds left on
the clock to take the win.
Chris Clark took the loss with a total of 29
saves, Conner MacKinnon earned the win with 28.
The Predators are on
the road to London on Friday October 29 and back
at home on Saturday when they host Wheatfield.
Both games begin at 7:30 pm.
