October 30 - November 1, 2010
With two
recent victories over rivals Windsor
and London the Lambton PeeWee's have
moved into top spot in the Western
Division league standings.
On
the weekend Lambton hosted the
Windsor Jr Spitfires and came out
flying, building a 4-0 lead after
the first period of play. The Jr
Sting would then become complacent
and allow the Spitfires back into
the contest giving up two unanswered
goals for a final score of 4-2.
Anthony Hurtubise had the start in
net and put up a solid performance
to take the victory. Scoring was
provided by Jarett Marks with 2 and
singles to Jack Dunn and Brock
Perry. Assists went to Ethan Dupont
with 2 while Ryan Greenaway, Alec
Dekoning, Patrick Wright and Colin
Leyten chipped in with singles.
Monday night the Jr Sting travelled
to the Western Fair Raceway to
battle the London Jr Knights on
their home rink. In a relatively
high-scoring and back-and-forth
contest the Lambton squad were able
to put up the last goal and hold on
for an exciting 6-5 victory. The Jr
Sting, including goalie Kaden
Fulcher gained some excellent
practice in the penalty killing
department throughout the contest.
Thankfully Fulcher and his
team-mates were up to the challenge
and persevered for the victory.
Picking up two goals each in the
victory were Brett Barnes and
Dekoning, with singles to Wright and
Isaac McLean. Assisting on the goals
were McLean with 2 and singles to
Dekoning, Perry, Dunn and Marks. |
