Lambton vs Chatham
Lambton played host to Chatham to start a busy Thanksgiving weekend.

The game started out as though both teams had Thanksgiving dinner earlier in the day with neither team generating many scoring opportunities as the first period ended 0-0. The pace of play picked up in the second period as did the physical play. Chatham scored first on the power play to take the lead. The Jr. Sting replied with Jacob Williams scoring with a screen shot from the boards at the hash marks. Nick DiScanno finished a strong two-point shift by blocking a point shot and then scoring on the breakaway giving Lambton a 2-1 lead at the end of the second.

Lambton increased the lead early in the third as Garrett Miller poked in a loose puck from close range on the power play. Daniel Wellington then fired in a rebound to make it 4-1, also on the power play. Nash Nienhuis continued with his strong play at forward by scoring Lambton’s fifth goal of the day and then DiScanno closed out the scoring tapping one in from the crease on a nice cross ice pass from Ryan Brown.

The Minor Peewees got the weekend off to a good start .

Lambton at Huron Perth Lakers
The Jr Sting Minor Peewees traveled to Goderich to battle the Lakers from Huron Perth on Sunday night and were looking to win their second of the weekend.

The Jr. Sting controlled the play and had many opportunities to score but couldn’t find the back of the net. As a result period one ended at 0-0. The Jr. Sting again held the balance of play in the second and were finally able to solve the Laker goalie with Max Steeves scoring on a nice wrister after receiving a beautiful pass from Jared Pageau to set Steeves in alone on the goalie. Lambton was not able to expand the lead and the second ended 1-0. The in-ability to bury the puck came back to haunt Lambton as Huron Perth tied it up mid-way through the third and then scored again late in the game on a rebound to go up 2-1 after Ethan Williams had a made a great save on the first shot. Lambton pulled their goalie and had a couple of good chances to tie it up but HPL managed to clear the zone and then scored into an empty net to make the final 3-1.

Max Steeves had the lone goal. Jared Pageau and Ben Schoch had one assist each
Ethan Williams played a great game in net and deserved a better outcome.

Lambton vs London Jr Knights
Lambton was looking to get back in the win column on Monday night at the RBC Center and up against a divisional rival in the London Jr. Knights.

London had the Jr. Sting on their heels for most of the first period and scored twice on the power play to take 2-0 lead after the first. Lambton regained their composure in the second and gradually started to apply some pressure and create some scoring opportunities.
Max Steeves jumped on a loose puck and buried a wrister on the power play mid-way through the second to give the Jr. Sting some life. The second period ended and it looked as though the momentum had shifted in favour of the Jr. Sting. Both teams traded chances in the third period with London forcing Ethan Hunt to make a number of goods saves in the Lambton net.
London took advantage of another power play opportunity and scored to up the lead to 3-1, pouncing on a loose puck. The Jr. Sting attempted to come back but were not able to generate enough chances and went down to defeat 3-1.

Max Steeves had the lone goal, Garrett Miller picked up the assist.
