The Lambton Sting Minor
Atom beat the
Elgin-Middlesex Chiefs
4-1 Monday night at the
RBC Centre. It was the
first of 3 meetings over
the next week for the 2
teams and the victory
put the Sting 4 points
ahead of the Chiefs in
the battle for third
place in the West
Division.
It was a balanced
scoring effort from the
Sting as 4 different
marksmen lit the lamp
for Lambton. Josh
McLean, Spencer
Vandenboom, Dylan
Riddell and Nolan
DeGurse were the goal
scorers. Vandenboom,
DeGurse, Hunter
Monkhouse with a pair,
Greg Ross and Cole
MacKinnon earned
assists. Defensemen
Mackinnon, Jaycob White,
Ryan Barwitzki, Brandon
Neelin and Blake Brand
deserve mention for
great work on the
blueline to make it a
relatively easy night
for goaltender Liam
McCarthy.
The Minor Atom Sting
return to action
Saturday with a game vs
Elgin Middlesex in
Dorchester with the two
teams meeting again
Sunday afternoon at the
RBC Centre.
