Flyers lose in Blenheim
Ben Esche scored
his first career goal on set ups from Thomas
Mertz and Kyle Limb to open the scoring in
Sunday’s game in Blenheim. The Blades tied
the game on a 5-3 powerplay. Jeff Johnson
snuck in from the point and put away the
puck on great passes from Chris Edwards and
Nick Newman to give the Flyers back the
lead. Blenheim tied the game with a short
pass to the corner of the net then went
ahead on a deflected shot. A giveaway in our
zone led to the fourth goal for Blenheim.
Brandon Campbell faced 33 shots in the 4-2
loss.
The Flyers will host a home game on Friday,
October 8th at 8:30 at the Watford Arena
against the Blenheim Blades.
Flyers lose in Belle River
The Flyers
headed to Belle River to take on the
reigning Great Lake Champions, the Belle
River Canadiens. The Canadiens have iced
another strong team this season and defeated
the Flyers 10-2. Joe Archer scored twice in
the battle, with assists coming from Ryan
Zavitz, Jeff Johnson and Dan Warner. Goalies
Matt Ferguson and Brandon Campbell combined
to save 53 shots. |
