Eight Sarnia
Legionnaires hit
double figures in
the goal scoring
department during
the regular season.
Jesse Drydak led the
way with 32. Captain
Tyler Cicchini was
next with 23, while
Chase Clark had 18.
Others in the double
digit club included
Joel Steeves (16),
Tanner Tomlinson
(14), Owen Rogers
(11) and Shawn
Waldie and Andy
Sokol with 10 each.
Among goaltenders,
Kyle Washer had 11
wins, two shutouts
and a save
percentage of .913.
Jesse Raymond had
nine victories, two
shutouts and a .908
save percentage.
Seth Anderson was
credited with
Sarnia's other net
triumph.
Top
10 highlights of the
regular schedule
included:

A fundraiser at
a January game
against St.
Thomas drew more
than 1,700 fans
and raised
$2,650 for the
Canadian Cancer
Society. The
club and its
fans also
collected $500
for Ronald
McDonald House
and contributed
to other
worthwhile
causes.

Captain Tyler
Cicchini scored
four goals in
one game as the
Legionnaires
crushed Lambton
Shores 12-2.

Kyle Washer was
named Western
Conference
goalie of the
month when he
won five games
and posted
back-to-back
shutouts in
January.

The team scored
16 shorthanded
goals in 50
games, including
two in one
contest as
Sarnia upset the
Maroons 4-3
right in
Chatham.

Two Legionnaires
were promoted to
the OHL in mid
season.
Defenceman
Anthony Donati
was scooped up
by the Sarnia
Sting after
scoring nine
goals in eight
games for the
Legion crew.
Rearguard Kyle
Flemington was
also grabbed by
the Sting,
putting five
former
Legionnaires in
their lineup
(counting Craig
Hottot, Tyler
Peters and Zack
MacQueen, who
made the club in
training camp).
Jesse Drydak,
Anton Zupancic
and Jesse
Raymond also saw
some action in
the OHL this
winter.

The final game
of the regular
schedule drew a
huge crowd of
more than 2,000
fans to the
Brock Street
Barn. Paid
attendance for
the season was
over 30,000,
best in Ontario
Jr. 'B' hockey.

Game. Kyle
Washer is the
winning goalie
and Tyler
Cicchini also
gets a point.

Jason Teschke
gets called up
from the
Mooretown Flags
and collects
four points in

The Legionnaires
honour three
past
championship
teams with
banner raisings
(the 1950
Western champion
Sarnia Sailors,
the 1951 Western
and Sutherland
Cup champion
Sailors and the
2009 Western
champion
Legionnaires.
The franchise
now has banners
hanging in
honour of six of
its 16
championship
teams.
