Sarnia Legionnaires Support City Police & R.I.D.E. Program
“Sober Drivers to be Rewarded”

Thanks to the continued community support of the Sarnia Legionnaires Hockey Club, the Sarnia Police Service will be able to thank sober drivers who pass through R.I.D.E. check points in Sarnia during the holiday season.

The Legionnaires have made (un-dated) home game tickets available to city police for distribution to those drivers who take driving sober seriously.

“Officers will reward sober drivers for doing their part to combat drinking and driving by presenting them with Legionnaires tickets as they pass through our check points this holiday season” said Sgt. Carson Wilson, officer in charge of the service’s Traffic Branch.

“Drinking & Driving continues to be a problem in the city and throughout Lambton County” added Wilson “and anything we can do to make drivers think more about the problem is a plus”.
