November was a championship month for the the Sarnia Novice Tier 1 Sting. They were are once again crowned tournament champions after going unbeaten in 5 games to win the Glacier Point Thanksgiving Classic.

The round robin portion of the tournament began  Friday night with a date with the Compuware Mite AA team. The Sting came out strong and had a 3-1 lead after the 2nd period. Unfortunately the Sting had a little bit of a letdown in the 3rd with the game ending in a 3-3 tie.

Saturday's first game was a mid morning affair with the USA Eagles. The Sting came out a little flat and at one point in the 2nd period were down 3-1 before storming back to a 5-3 victory.

The next game of the day was an evening event facing the Rochester Rattlers. The Sting were focused on a first place seeding in their division and came out flying. the final score was a well deserved 8-1 victory.
The semi final game the next day featured an early morning tilt against the host Bluewater Stars. Both teams came out tentative with both teams struggling offensively.

At the end of regulation the score was 0-0. Next up was a  five minute overtime which featured scoring opportunities from both sides but neither team was able to light the lamp. The final scene featured a shootout with three shooters chosen for each team. Still no score. Obviously the goaltending was stellar for both teams. Then on to the fourth shooter the Sting were able to score only to have to wait for the Stars to have their final shot before the celebration could begin. Final shootout victory 1-0 Sting.

The finals took place that afternoon against cross county rivals the Mooretown Storm. The Storm came out very strong. Their appetite was greater for victory early on in the game. The Sting had to coax their legs into responding. The score going into the 3rd period was 3-1 for Mooretown. This group of young Sting players had no intention of going down easy. After tying the game mid 3rd period. It looked like overtime might be a possibility. But with around a minute left the Sting celebrated the go ahead goal. Finally the clocked ticked down to victory. 4-3 Sarnia Jr Sing over the Mooretown Storm. Congratulations need to be mentioned to the Mooretown Storm who played a fantastic game that could have easily went either way.
