Sarnia Jr Sting Peewee In Recent Action

On Halloween Day, Sarnia traveled to London to take on the Oakridge Aero’s. It was a hard game to watch as the Sting players minds were more on the festivities of the night than on the game at hand but the Sting found a way to win as they took this game 4-2.

The following day Sarnia would play host to the visiting St Thomas Stars. With some unlucky bounces for the Sting and an open net goal for St Thomas, the Stars would win this game 5-3.

Sarnia would travel down the 402 on a mid week game to take on the West London Hawks. This was a game of many defensive breakdowns for the Sting as this game became a shootout but the Sting prevailed with a 6-5 win.

Saturday Nov 7th Sarnia headed to Hamilton to take on one of the top teams in the league. The Sting once again put in a lack luster performance instead of playing three full periods of hockey, add in a couple of power play goals for the Hamilton Reps….and what do you get….a disappointing loss of 5-2.

Sunday the Sting would play host to the Stratford Warriors, knowing this was the last game of the seeded season and the fact that the Sting have yet to lose two games in a row, came out flying. The Sting were first to all the pucks, they played physical and won the battles in the corners and skated hard as they ran over there opponents with a solid 7-3 victory to close out the seeded season.

Sarnia has now completed there first part of the season going 9 wins and 4 losses in league play placing them in 3rd place overall. The Sting also boasts a record of 20 wins and 4 losses in all games played. Sarnia has earned a spot in the AA division for the remainder of the season against some very tough competition. The Sting will look to be more consistent and eliminate defensive errors to have a successful run for the league title.

The Sting are in action this weekend in the Mooretown Storm tournament where they look to bring home their second tournament championship of the year.

GO STING GO !!!
