Sarnia Jr Sting Major Peewee A/AA Win 3 of 4 Games

On October 17th the Sting played host to the North London Nationals and with a mid third period goal they broke the tie and held on for the 2-1 victory over the Nationals.

The following day the London Bandits came to town and came out hitting hard and skating hard. London held a 2-0 lead heading into the third. Sarnia would cut the Bandits lead to 2-1 but the team ran out of gas to tie the game up as the Bandits stole this one 2-1.

With a tough weekend coming up (Kitchener and London Knights) the Sting knew they needed to have some hard practices and dryland but that wasn’t the case as the team was hit with a big flu bug as half the players missed practices and dryland was cancelled.

Saturday the Sting hopped in the vehicles and headed to Kitchener wondering how the outcome would be as they were short a couple of players due to injury and some were still recovering from the flu. The Sting held a 1-0 lead after the first, 2-1 lead after the second and scored a late empty net goal for the 3-1 victory.

Sunday the Sting headed to London for a late night game versus the mighty London Knights. Sarnia was still short a couple of players due to injury and put in an outstanding performance. The first period finished scoreless, second period action had the Sting take a 2-0 lead heading into the third period. Sarnia increased their lead to 3-0 before the Knights finally got on the board. Sarnia took all the time and space away from their opponents the entire game keeping the Knights from doing what they do best (controlling the game) as Sarnia skated to a well deserved 3-1 win.

The Sarnia Jr. Sting now sports a record of 13 wins and 2 losses’ in league and tournament play.
