Sarnia vs Woodstock Navy
October 24, 2009
The Sarnia Sting Major Atom
MD team fell to the Woodstock Navy Jets by a score of 4
-1 Saturday afternoon at Clearwater Arena. The hometown
team came out flying, with several quality chances early
in the game. Woodstock opened the scoring, after a scrum
in front of Sarnia's net, but the Sting came back with a
similar goal scored by Julian D'Agostini, and assisted
by Dylan Schroeter and Adam L'Heureux shortly after to
knot the game at 1 -1. The game was all Woodstock after
that, as the Sting seemed to tire and were content to
watch the Navy Jets swarm the Sarnia net, while
the Sarnia boys were continually being frustrated by the
fine goaltending of Woodstock when they had a chance.
Aidan Manery had a strong game for the Sting on the
blueline, thwarting several Navy Jet chances or the
score may have been higher for Woodstock.
Next action for the Sting
is not until Thursday November 5th at 6:30 pm. at
Germain Arena when Sarnia hosts London Thunder.
